The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is in the process of recruiting teams for the Relay that will be held at the Washington County Fair Park on August 4th & 5th, 2006. This is an excellent event for businesses, churches, families, organizations and others to participate in as a team. Teams are to be made up of 8-15 members. The registration fee is $150.00 per team.
June 7th is the date for team captains to get their team registration money turned in along with the T-shirt order.
There will be a "Kick Off Meeting" on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008 at the West Bend Clinic. All team captains and others that are interested are welcome to attend.

Are you willing to be a Team captain?
Get 8-15 people together
Get someone to sponsor or raise the $150
Ask your team members to raise at least $100 each.
Attend the Kick Off meeting
Turn your team’s money in by "Bank Night".
Have FUN at the RELAY!!!!
Tips to make your team more successful!
Personally invite people you know that have been touched by cancer to participate in the Relay (join your team, buy a luminaria, make a donation)
Show the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Video to your team or have your committee team mentor meet with your team.
Put an article in your company or organization newsletter explaining the Relay and asking for participation (join team, make donation, buy luminarias, etc.)
Choose an honorary team leader or dedicate your team to a friend, relative or co-worker who has or has had cancer.
Encourage family and friends to participate. The Relay is a great family event with a positive and hopeful atmosphere.
Stuff Relay participation notices in the paycheck envelopes.
Hang up the Relay posters in high traffic areas and distribute Relay brochures.
Set a team goal and challenge your team members to reach specific goals
Give your team a name, celebrate your team’s past
accomplishments
and decorate your tent area with the theme in mind to provide a spirited
experience.
Turn in your team roster and registration by the May 1st deadline to receive your t-shirts, pizza party tickets, breakfast coupons, and more.
Check in with your team members to note progress, get ideas for fundraising from one another and promote team spirit.
Let everyone know what to bring to the event. HAVE FUN!!!!
